A lifespan of 25 years or more is expected, making hardwood flooring one of the most durable floor coverings available alongside stone or ceramic tile. When hardwood is scratched, it can be sanded and refinished to restore the surface. Hardwood floors made from a hardwood surface layer laminated to core layers are a little less durable but can be long-lasting floors with proper maintenance.

For this reason, hardwood flooring products installed using adhesives or clicks are better suited for the bathroom.
