Doughnuts to Die For!

Written by Ariana deVries on Mar 31

Or live for. They're just that good.

I'm adding a new section to my blog with restaurant, cafe and bakery reviews. This is my first post! Hopefully some of you give this little company some business when I'm through. :)

A new doughnut shop opened up near my house last month called Jimmy's Minis. Kind of a funny name, but my goodness are the doughnuts ever delicious! They're kind of like the new fad that's been going around in my little world.

They're all mini (hence the name) with these ones being big minis and there are little minis as well. The big ones come in around 15 different flavours. I want to try every single one! They just look incredibly awesome. The few I have tried were AHmazing. Like close your eyes and savour every bite, amazing.

And it gets even better. The doughnuts are made fresh everyday with the little minis being made twice a day. I tried one of those (cinnamon and sugar variety) while it was still warm and soft. It practically melted in my mouth.

I also really like how unique some of the flavours are and how it's a rather unassuming establishment. The staff are friendly and you know they put a lot of time and effort into making a good product. It still has the grassroots feel, but I'm sure with more customers we can help boost them in the bakery world. :)

A few of the doughnuts you can try are:

  • Peanut Butter and Chocolate
  • Pecan and Caramel
  • Dark Chocolate and Cherry
  • Cookies and Creme
  • Raspberry and White Chocolate
  • Toffee Crunch
  • Cinnamon and Sugar
  • Lemon Glaze

That's just to name a few! (Titles may be slightly different, but you get the idea).

We've been enjoying this new shop immensely. If you're ever in the area, you really should stop by! They're nothing like Tim Horton's doughnuts. I think Jimmy's Minis are much, much better. And maybe if we all give them lots of business they'll stick around for awhile. :)

Unfortunately, there isn't a website yet. They're located in a small plaza on Lorraine and Heritage St. in Kitchener, ON.

I hope you enjoyed that review. It would be great to hear your thoughts. Maybe you have a place in mind you think would be perfect for a review. If so, let me know and I'll look into it!

All the best to you as we (fingers crossed) enter into spring!
