Valentine’s Cupcakes (AKA. Belly Button Cupcakes)

Serving Size: 12 Prep Time: 15-20 minutes Cook Time: 18 minutes


1 1/2 cups Flour
1 cup White Sugar
1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/4 tsp Salt
1/2 cup Butter (Softened)
1 cup Milk
2 large Egg(s)
1 tsp Vanilla Extract


  1. Preheat oven to 375˚F.
  2. In large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  3. Mix in the wet ingredients using an electric mixer on low speed. (Butter, milk, eggs and vanilla). Beat until smooth.
  4. Spoon into 12 paper-lined or greased muffin cups.
  5. Bake for approximately 18 minutes.
  6. Let cool and frost.

Note: For frosting, see Perfect Buttercream Frosting recipe. I halved the recipe for these cupcakes.
